DISPLAY & PHOTOS

What kind of photos are best suited for PICPAK?

To get the most beautiful print-like effect on your PICPAK, we highly recommend uploading photos with:
- Warm and rich lighting (e.g., golden hour, candlelight, warm decor)
- Film, retro, or vintage aesthetics
- High-contrast black and white

Why does the screen flicker when switching photos?

Please rest assured that your device is working perfectly as intended. The video below shows how it works.

This brief flash is a standard physical characteristic of Electronic Ink (E-ink) technology.During the switch, the screen drives a rapid electrical pulse to physically shuffle and reset millions of color particles.

This "deep clean" process completely erases the old image to prevent any faint shadows (ghosting) from ruining your next photo.Think of it as the screen quickly clearing its canvas so your new memory can be displayed with perfect clarity.

Why are the blue-green tones missing in some of my photos?

Please rest assured that your PICPAk is rendering color exactly as designed. The diagram below illustrates how PICPAK processes and displays colors:

PICPAK uses a premium 4-color E-ink display (Black, White, Yellow, and Red). Because there are no physical blue or cyan pigments inside the screen, these specific shades are artistically translated into complementary tones. This is at the heart of why we created PICPAK—because our memories aren't always sharp and crystal clear; they are painted with feelings, warmth, and time.

Why does the display look textured or have a subtle grain?

This texture is an intentional design feature engineered to give PICPAK the look and feel of real printed paper rather than a glowing glass screen. Try the Display Previewer below to see how your photos will look!

BeforeAfter

This organic, matte appearance is achieved through two key elements: 4-Color E-ink Physics: PicPak utilizes an advanced 4-color e-ink display. Instead of digital pixels, the screen physically shifts real color particles inside microscopic capsules to form your image, creating a natural, ink-on-paper texture.

With a tailored 400×300 resolution, the display is optimized to soften harsh digital edges, blending your photos beautifully into your home decor with a warm, film-like grain.
